The Brewery

We remodeled our seven barrel custom brewhouse in early 2014 and began brewing our own beer again in June. The remodel streamlined our operations and improved consistency by increasing our ability to control temperature through the entire fermentation process. Head Brewer Chris Spollen, originally from Upstate New York, has been brewing professionally in the northwest for over 22 years. Starting at Rogue in Newport, OR in 1993 and then Amnesia in Portland. He has now brought his talent and creativity to Vancouver. Chris works hard to craft beers that are truly balanced. His favorite creation to date is our Imperial Brown Ale called the Big Newton. This big bold brown Ale brewed with figs, pairs well with food and could quite possibly become the next big thing.

About us

Named for the venerable climbing vine outside in the patio. The vine was originally at home in Germantown, Pennsylvania, came west to Hilltop Farm near Forest Grove in 1848, on to Vancouver in the late nineteenth century, finally arriving here with the construction of the Patio Building in 1947. We hope you enjoy the ambiance of the taproom, find the range of micro brews intriguing and the menu to your liking enjoy!
